Common Fuel Economy Units
Fuel economy is measured differently around the world. In the United States, Miles per Gallon (MPG) is common. In Europe and many other parts of the world, Liters per 100 kilometers (L/100km) is the standard. Note that MPG measures distance per unit of fuel, while L/100km measures fuel used per unit of distance, so a higher MPG is better, while a lower L/100km is better.
