The Power of Breathwork

Controlled breathing exercises, also known as breathwork, are a powerful tool for managing stress, anxiety, and focus. By consciously changing the pattern of your breathing, you can influence your parasympathetic nervous system, which helps your body relax and recover from stress.

  • Box Breathing: A simple technique used by Navy SEALs to calm and focus the mind under pressure. It involves equal-length phases of inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding.
  • 4-7-8 Breathing: Also known as the "relaxing breath," this technique developed by Dr. Andrew Weil is designed to help with sleep and anxiety.
  • Physiological Sigh: A technique promoted by neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman, involving two inhales followed by a long exhale. It's one of the fastest ways to calm the body down in real-time.
