About Vision Screening Tools

This vision center provides a set of simple, online screening tools to check different aspects of your vision. These tests are for educational and informational purposes only and are not a substitute for a professional eye examination by a qualified optometrist or ophthalmologist. They can help you become more aware of potential issues, but they cannot diagnose conditions.

  • Visual Acuity: Checks the clarity of your distance vision using a Tumbling E chart, a standard method for testing individuals who cannot read.
  • Astigmatism Test: Helps screen for astigmatism, a common condition where the eye's cornea or lens has an irregular shape, causing blurry or distorted vision.
  • Near Vision Test: A simple reading chart to screen for presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) or other issues affecting near focus.
  • Color Vision Test: Uses Ishihara-style plates to screen for common types of red-green color vision deficiency.
