Understanding Feed Rate
In machining, feed rate is the velocity at which the cutter is advanced along the workpiece. It's a crucial parameter that, along with cutting speed, determines the productivity, surface finish, and tool life of a machining operation.
Formula Used: `Vf = n * z * fz`, where `Vf` is the feed rate in mm/min, `n` is the spindle speed in RPM, `z` is the number of flutes on the cutter, and `fz` is the chip load (feed per tooth) in mm/tooth.
