About Clamp Load

When a bolt is tightened, it stretches like a spring, creating a tension force known as preload or clamp load. This force is what holds a joint together. This calculator uses a simplified formula to estimate this clamp load based on the applied torque.

Formula Used: `F = T / (K * D)`, where `F` is the clamp load, `T` is the torque, `K` is the nut factor (an empirical constant that accounts for friction), and `D` is the bolt's nominal diameter. A common value for `K` for standard fasteners is 0.2.
